Chariots and Horses

Psalm 20:7: “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.”

What are my chariots and horses?

They are in different in different areas of my life.

They could be attendance numbers, offering totals, or requests for sermon CDs.

They could be housing prices, savings accounts, and fall-back plans.

They could be seat-belts, air-bags, and landing gear.

Of course, none of these are bad things; many are even good things, necessary things. And the LORD God often operates within such means.

But where is my fundamental trust? In chariots and horses, or in Jesus alone?

Reminded of…”on CHRIST alone I stand, all other ground is sinking sand”…now the challenge is to leave all the “stuff” to sink in the sand, remembering that the sand is not always “quick sand”…Why do we so often pick it back up?????
