An Approach to Prayer

I have been approaching prayer differently (and more systematically) recently. My quiet time in the Word leads into prayer on good days, but often I am distracted and find that praying is still difficult. Recently, my quiet times have looked something like this:

*Scripture reading. I have been going through Luke slowly, trying to really gain a sense of the Jesus I trust and worship as told by Luke.

*Prayer journal. I have journaled off and on, in various forms throughout the years. However, this is more focused–I try to take the truth of the Word and write out a prayer of worship and adoration.

*”Prayer”. After writing the prayer, I find that praying it leads me into more focused and intimate communion with God.
