Alphabet Thanks

Every year, at Thanksgiving dinner,

my family passes a basket or a hat

around that festal table; and

we pick out a letter written on a

slip of paper.

“A”

“F”

“T”

“L”

etc.

We give thanks for something,

that starts with that letter:

sometimes trite or silly, but, still,

we are thankful.

Adoption

Fireplaces

Toffee nut latttes

Laura Lyn

etc.

Because thanks should encompass all of life—

alpha to omega, A to Z, in every way,

we have been showered with blessings.

And we should give thanks.
