Jesus delivered himself up to being seen as the worthless idols of pagan religion.
Look at Isaiah 46:1-2:
Bel bows down; Nebo stoops;
their idols are on beasts and livestock;
these things you carry are borne
as burdens on weary beasts.
They stoop; they bow down together;
they cannot save the burden,
but themselves go into captivity.

Isaiah 44:10: “Who fashions a god or casts an idol that is profitable for nothing?”
The question here is rhetorical, indicting the utter foolishness of such a scheme. “You would make a god? How could you be so deluded? Who would do such a stupid thing?” Who can be compared to the Lord? What hand-made god [...]
All that is not Yahweh has been created by Yahweh, and idolatry is worshipping anything that is not Yahweh, or, worshipping any created thing.
Isaiah 41:24: “Behold, they are nothing and their works are less than nothing. An abomination is the man who chooses them.”
They are nothing but things forged, carved, and cast by men. Their works exist only the imagination of men’s minds. And men choose them, love them, desire them.
