It is fairly easy to study the bible and the message of Jesus Christ. In fact, it isn't much more difficult to theorize about their impact on our world. It is, however, difficult to engage our community and our culture on a daily basis with the message of the bible, the gospel of Jesus Christ, so that we might love our brothers and sisters in Christ in both word and deed as described in 1 John 3. It can often be even more difficult to share and live out the gospel of Jesus Christ with our closest family and friends. This is not to say that we easily extend grace and the gospel message to complete strangers, for all too often we do not take the time to share and live out the hope we have within us with (as mentioned in the quote above) the unlovable in our city or the neighbor down the street, but rather this is to highlight the importance of allowing the gospel to so saturate our lives that our attitudes, speech, and actions preach this message to all we come in contact with...the stranger, the neighbor, even the family member and the close friend who see us at our best and at our worst. It is not easy to be so inundated by the gospel that it spills out into all aspects of our daily living, but may God grant us favor as we seek to be vessels overflowing with grace and truth.
